European Court of Human Rights: “The removal of a baby from its mother at birth require exceptional justification, or else it is a violation of the parents’ right to respect for family life article 8 ECHR. It is a step which is traumatic for the mother and place the mothers psysical and mental health under strain and deprive the newborn baby of close contact with its birth mother and the advantages of breastfeeding.”
